Summer is such a great time of year! There are so many fun activities, festivals, and lakes to explore. It is important to stay safe through it all.
Always be on the lookout for poison oak. Technu Soap is a must in houses with kids who don’t know what poison oak looks like, be sure to show it to all family. In case of possible exposure, be sure to wash everyone with Technu Soap. Or carry Technu Wipes with you, to wipe everyone down right after possible exposure.
Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen! And Re-apply! Not that sunscreen shouldn’t be used every single day (can we say no early wrinkles by slathering on the sunscreen every morning, rain or shine!), it is especially important in the summer months. Most people remember it when they leave for a fun pool or river day but then they don’t re-apply for maximum coverage. So be sure to reapply sunscreen after swimming, towel drying, or excessive sweating.
Avoid bug bites by refraining from using scented soaps or hairsprays. Remember the bug spray too! Even though bug bites don’t generally make you sick, they are annoying and uncomfortable. This is a great natural repellent option!
Bring a towel to the park so your child can go down the slide on the towel instead of being burned by the slide. But remember to catch them at the bottom, they might fly down too quickly to stop themselves!
Don’t forget your pets in the hot summer months! Fill a bucket with ice and some toys and toss it in the backyard if you’re going to be gone for a while. As the ice melts the toys will be freed for your pup to play with them.
Water! Make sure everyone drinks a lot of water during the summer months. Dehydration is a real risk and is preventable.
Going boating? Remember that all passengers under 13 years of age must be wearing a life jacket that is properly fitted to the child.
